I intended to make a food searching service because most people are usually wondering about what food is the best for their lunch or dinner. Actually, I wanted it to be used emotional keywords like happy, gloomy and dizzy by connecting with Yelp API. I created a food searching service which can use it with voice recognition.
To engineer this, I utilized p5 speech and Yelp api, applying Yelp client ID and Secret.
To communicate with client, server and yelp api, I utilized AJAX and manipulated some code to add a search keyword from user’s voice, and then i added https to import user’s voice.
Although I was not able to add CSS at result page, I hope to improve it to being a complete service which can recommend proper foods and nearby restaurants, reacting user’s emotional keywords like gloomy or dizzy.

- Image or Video with BLACK or ALPHA Background
- 45degree tilted Transparent Acrylic(Thickness 1-2mm would be the best, even CD case is okay)
- Dark Environment
- Eye level (Actual Camera or Camera in Software) : Making a balance with final output
- Object : Sparkling materials can make it more 3d dimensionally volumetric
- Lighting : Focusing on object with natural light
This project is for people with disabilities, turning-on their limited world.
I heard that they are living in the totally different world by utilizing other senses. I intended to create this service to help them to be in safe.
To engineer this service, I wanted to utilize Augmented Reality with visual and audio elements.
I was mostly inspired by World Brush app which enables us to paint something based on GPS. Plus, I wanted to use traditional Street View on Google Map. Unfortunately, Google street view does NOT offer specific current status, so I want to combine their pros and cons into my service.
I wish that this service could be simultaneously updated ALWAYS-ON map for visionary and hearing-impaired, sharing valuable information one another.
The left screen is an initial landing page. On the lowest side, there is a tap-bar which contains UPLOAD, ON, and SETTING modules.
The upper side is for uploading contents which provide users with specific location and street view. They can paint some important information like a warning sign by using Brush and Paint tools.
As for a user side, lower screens, they will be able to figure out on-going warning notices when they move to other places with visual and hearing AR via image makers.
For Week 3 discussion, our topic ended up being the current condition of political polarization in America. This polarization is one of the several ongoing national controversial issues of which we isolated three: climate change, gender issues (i.e. pay gap, etc) over the past 20 years.

I intended to make a screen lock with animal characters by using swipe system.
Users can set their password with favorite six animals instead of boring numbers, for example, cow-fox-penguin-horse-tiger-chick and mouse.
Also, I utilized circular UI system, breaking the traditional rectangle module.
How did it become a driving force?
It all starts with the explosion in the amount of data we have generated since the dawn of the digital age. This is largely due to the rise of computers, the Internet and technology capable of capturing data from the world we live in. Data in itself isn’t a new invention. Going back even before computers and databases, we had paper transaction records, customer records and archive files – all of which are data. Computers, and particularly spreadsheets and databases, gave us a way to store and organise data on a large scale, in an easily accessible way. Suddenly, information was available at the click of a mouse.
We’ve come a long way since early spreadsheets and databases, though. Today, every two days we create as much data as we did from the beginning of time until 2000. That’s right, every two days. And the amount of data we’re creating continues to increase rapidly; by 2020, the amount of digital information available will have grown from around 5 zettabytes today to 50 zettabytes.
Nowadays, almost every action we take leaves a digital trail. We generate data whenever we go online, when we carry our GPS-equipped smartphones, when we communicate with our friends through social media or chat applications, and when we shop. You could say we leave digital footprints with everything we do that involves a digital action, which is almost everything.
Multi-structured data refers to a variety of data formats and types and can be derived from interactions between people and machines, such as web applications or social networks. A great example is web log data, which includes a combination of text and visual images along with structured data like form or transactional information.
On top of this, the amount of machine-generated data is rapidly growing too. Data is generated and shared when our “smart” home devices communicate with each other or with their home servers. Industrial machinery in plants and factories around the world are increasingly equipped with sensors that gather and transmit data.
The term “Big Data” refers to the collection of all this data and our ability to use it to our advantage across a wide range of areas, including business.
Explain the historical events leading to it.
I intended to make a beatbox practicing app for a beginner. There are a bunch of basic techniques to learn it. Beatboxing is basically based on mouth shapes which directly influence on making sounds. Consequently, I utilized some visual and audio examples which allow beginners to easily mimic it. Actually, I wanted to make it by using GIF animation, but I failed.
Beyond practice, they can experience how they could be mixed as if randomly mixed notes. To engineer this, I used “RANDOM” function as “TRUE”. As a result, I believe one button interaction would be a generator for Beatboxing sounds.
